 Raj
Bhavan is a famous monument
to be visited from the
administrative point of
view. It is the residence
of Governor of the state
and hence its importance.
The Raj Bhavan is situated
in the Guindy area of
the city very near the
Guindy National Park and
children’s Park.
Architecturally it is
not exemplary, but the
importance is due to the
occupant of this building.
The Raj Bhavan is closely
guarded as it is the residence
of the Governor.
Forest lands mark the
surroundings of the Raj
Bhavan. There is a gallery
in the Raj Bhavan where
all the previous residents
of the house have been
immortalized. The Pancha
Mandapams or the five
mandapams dedicated to
the national heroes also
can be seen in this area.
The place has a lot of
visitors taking a glance
at it due to its superior
occupants residing in
the place. Raj Bhavan
is within the city limits
and hence easily accessible.
There are frequent bus
services from several
parts of Chennai to this
destination.
